@stivaro Well for first bikes do not need oil to run, and as we know oil requires drilling which ends in damaging marine life. Second, oil is limited, so it is not sustainable (and sustainability is obviously related to environment). Third, burning oil produces poisonous gases (dont believe: park your car in garage, close the garage and start the engine, lets see how long you can survive…on a serious note, please DONT DO THAT, YOU WILL DIE). Of course, these gases are released back to air.

@bruced999 Thank you Bruce. Very well spoken argument. Seriously, I really do appreciate the legitimate response.

@Zimsbuisnessisdone DUR DUR DUR DUR. Bikes are supposed to use the road smart guy. Try riding on the sidewalk in Manhattan. You will get a ticket.

@little1uan Helmets distract? thats a feeble argument. Are your eyes on the top of your head?

Bikes are great in every way, but no one has a right to ride without a helmet — so long as the rest of us are paying for his medical treatment.

@majorgeneraldespair2 He means that the pro-helmet argument distracts from the fact that without reckless activity we wouldn’t need helmets. While I don’t necessarily agree with that statement, it’s obvious you missed the point of his comment.

Nice. I bike nearly every day! Errands, exersize or just for the joy of it.

@Two49 I dont miss. I ignore, because it has no basis in reality. People who arent reckless make mistakes and roads are not covered in padding, lacking potholes and its not like there isn’t unpredictability in the streets. I have seen a cracked dome before and it isnt pretty. If you want to be a selfish prick about your hairstyle fine. Just take the bus instead.

@misterrumpy That’s ridiculous. The bottom line is that a helmet is a good idea. It can save your life. It’s stupid not to wear one. The downside: a helmet won’t prevent people from making stupid decisions on a bike. A lot of people don’t understand how to ride in traffic and do many illegal things which can cause fatalities- helmet or not. Should people not bother with seat belts when riding in cars? There’s no argument against being safe.

Alright everyone, bike helmtts are very safe. Yes, we understand that, but in most states, (including my own), you only have to wear it at a certain age. In my state, when you turn 17 you are not required to wear a helmet, although it is recommended. In the end, the law says so, and you don’t override the law. Yes, helmest SHOULD be mandated for every rider as are seatbelts for cars, but that’s not how it is. so for everyone’s sake, please stop complaining.

Some believe in a world made better by doping. C’mon and sing with me. “Now shoot me up before I go go, Don’t leave me hanging on like a yo-yo”. Win Wrong. Cheat Long. Arm Prong. Pharm Strong. Dope Dong.

@majorgeneraldespair2 Oh, so your argument is potholes? You do realize with less car traffic there would be significantly less road damage right? And who the heck said anything about hairstyles? Obviously you haven’t ridden a bike enough to know that WIND would ruin your hair alone. It’s about the freedom to choose! Even if biking without a helmet isn’t safe, that doesn’t mean you can come to a video about the joy of biking and act like a total jerk. Move along now.

This is a sign that the world’s natural oil supply is running thin. They are preparing the US.
