Here are some of the manufactures. You may want to look at the commuter bikes, they will be perfect for you. Look at the Women’s section.

a trek. for exercise you don’t need a fancy bike. i race for the evanston cycling team near chicago and i train on a piece of junk trek antelope mountain bike. just get a reliable 21 speed bike that is rather light and you are good to go

1st it depends on your budget
Id suggest a bik that’s light and geared.
The brand really doesn’t count and if I were you I’d by an oriental made bike
Quality is the same (I am a dealer) and by far cheaper.
The two types that are good for city cycling and
RACE and ROAD Bikes.
ah and by a bize which size is proportional to you size because if its smaller (more difficult to operate thus going slower)
and if it is bigger than it will be too tall and to heavy thus going slower. -

Anything but Walmart, Target, etc. bikes. I reccomend a bike with slimmer, slicker tires. As you will be riding in the city. An old 10 speed may be good.

i would recommend any giant or fuji bike. they are the most dependable and best price for the pieces you get. think of them as the toyota and hondas of bikes. if you are just begging in cycling i would recommend a touring bike. fuji has a special line of touring for women. you can get a good deal on ebay on that kind of bike or stop by a fuji dealer. there should be one in your town

cross over bikes, brilliant for the city. Racing bike frame with droops, thin racing wheels but with treads on so you can go on tracks as well.
PERFECT!
